# NEW $PETS TOKEN

**MicroPets** has undergone a major upgrade with the deployment of a new $PETS token on BNB Chain, designed to enhance security, simplify tokenomics, and support long-term ecosystem growth.

The previous $PETS token (**0x2466858ab5edad0bb597fe9f008f568b00d25fe3**) operated as a proxy contract with transaction tax mechanisms as part of the earlier ecosystem structure.

The new $PETS contract ([**0x610FD1A9601CF7b1d188dBF3264738Aecc9fC96C**](https://pancakeswap.finance/swap?outputCurrency=0x610FD1A9601CF7b1d188dBF3264738Aecc9fC96C)) introduces a significantly reduced and fixed supply of **1,485,912 tokens**. The contract is fully renounced, immutable, and operates with **zero transaction taxes**, providing a more transparent and decentralized framework for the ecosystem.

To support the transition, a structured migration process has been implemented, allowing holders of the previous token to swap into the new contract at a fixed ratio of 1:4743 (old to new). The migration window opened on March 25, 2026 and will remain open until March 25, 2027.&#x20;

As part of this upgrade, the previous contract is being deprecated and will no longer be supported as the ecosystem transitions fully to the new token standard.

Within the MicroPets ecosystem, **$PETS** serves as the core utility token, enabling participation in NFT-related features, staking mechanisms, and upcoming products within the **MicroPals Nexus**.

Overall, this upgrade strengthens security, improves transparency through simplified tokenomics, and establishes a stronger foundation for long-term ecosystem development.
